Primary Recruitment
Primary recruitment is the main process the National Panhellenic Conference sororities at Indiana University use to recruit new members. Here at Indiana University, primary recruitment takes place over the first few weeks of January. It is a great way to meet all twenty-two of our chapters and get to know our Panhellenic community. Primary recruitment is a mutual selection process. All PNMs will visit every sorority during the first round (Open House), but the remaining rounds are by invitation only. Just as the sororities are narrowing down the number of women attending each round of events, potential members may only accept a certain number of invitations to each round. Participation in primary recruitment does not guarantee an invitation to join a sorority, nor does it obligate a student to join.
